Claus Bolby was a flight engineer before he began designing lighting. All the lights were manufactured in the basement of his home in Silkeborg in Jutland, Denmark. In 1974, he moved his lighting production to a factory and began exporting to countries around the world. Bolby worked with lighting design up until his death in 2011.
